Semi-Automatic pistol and a holster; or a Carbine with a sling; or both. (Dummy guns are fine)

– Eye protection

-Good footwear (no sandals or open-toe shoes)

A handheld flashlight (lights meant for tactical use are recommended but not required)

Weather appropriate clothing (in case of outdoor or non-climate-controlled training areas)

– NO AMMO (Seriously, don’t bring any live ammo into the course for any reason.)

Close Quarters Battle (CQB) happens when we must fight in a compressed space, such as inside a building or room, against opponents who may or may not be armed.

Few would argue that a toe-to-toe gunfight where time is measured in fractions of seconds, everything happens within “bad breath” range, and you have little or no cover, is a good place to be.

Our motto for this class is: “When there’s no other choice” for a reason: CQB is the worst of the worst.  This is a dragon you must know how to fight. Chance simply isn’t on your side when it comes to CQB.

Homes, hospitals, schools, churches, hallways, bathrooms, bedrooms, and gas stations – if we’re honest, we all know there are no real safe spaces.

Learning some fundamental and simple (I didn’t say “easy”) skills to help you function, fight, and fire in a CQB environment will increase your odds of success and survival, no matter the literal “tight spot” you find yourself in.

In Solo CQB I, you will work alone to fight and win.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • What it means to make “The Decision.”
  • How to keep your cool in CQB.
  • The 8 Precepts of CQB.
  • How to quickly identify and prioritize the different shapes, angles, and danger areas of structures.
  • The best methods for moving through a structure alone as safely as possible.
  • “Weapons flow” in a compressed environment for safety, efficiency, and speed.
  • How to open doors, enter and “clear” rooms, negotiate intersections and adjacent rooms and doorways.
  • How to search a structure for someone you must protect and extract them.
  • …and much more!

Solo CQB 1 is a “dry” evolution of training. There is no live ammo required for this class, as it is not a shooting course but a tactics-based one.  This class is all about learning to read the anatomy of structures and spaces, practicing movement, footwork, and muzzle positions.  This class is all practical and hands-on, but requires no shooting or live ammunition. (There may be training guns and training ammunition used, however.)

We can promise this about SCQB1: The world will look different afterwards.
