CARBINE 2
PLEASE READ: We have updated the model for this course and while it is still an intermediate-level course, it is now a pass/fail course, so applicants need to show up with a base level of knowledge and skill. For instance, we only make time to VERIFY your zero when the day begins. If an applicant doesn’t already know how to make appropriate adjustments to their sights or optics without help, they need to (re)attend Carbine 1 prior to attempting this course.
This course gets fast and includes movement of both the operator and the targets. Base level skills are tested throughout the day and graded. The shooting problems stack up and the shooter must make good decisions and maximize safety and efficiency.
Drills and Skills:
- Movement, movement, movement. Everything is moving
- Advanced shooting positions
- Advanced cover work, angles, and bracing techniques
- Using Paced/Volume fire to achieve fire superiority and enable maneuver
- Off-hand/Injury operations of the carbine
- Emergency Transitions from the carbine to the handgun and back again
- Maximum Point-Blank Range deep study
- Medium-Range Accuracy with the carbine
Gunfighters welcome.
