Close Quarters Gunfighting 1

Close Quarters Gunfights happen when we must fight armed opponents in compressed spaces, such as rooms and hallways.

This is geometry in motion. With guns.

1. Real-world techniques used by protection teams everywhere.
2. Taught by real-world protectors.

Course Topics:

• What it means to make “The Decision.” 
• How to keep your cool in CQB.
• The 8 Precepts of CQB.
• Transitional Space Management
• Identification and prioritization of the different shapes, angles, and danger areas of structures and rooms.
• Methods for moving through a structure with a team or alone as safely and effectively as possible.
• Weapons flow techniques for compressed environments.
• The individual responsibilities of each team member within a 4-man “stack.”
• How to open doors, enter and “clear” rooms, negotiate intersections and adjacent rooms and doorways.
• How to search a structure for a protectee and extract them.
• …and much more!

Required Equipment:

• No Firearms are required for this course, but you can bring yours to practice movement with.
• Notepad and pen
• Eye protection
• Good footwear (no sandals or open-toe shoes)
• A handheld flashlight (lights meant for “tactical” use are recommended, but not required)
• Weather appropriate clothing (in case of outdoor or non-climate-controlled training areas)
• NO AMMO (Seriously, don’t bring any live ammo into the course for any reason.)

NOTES:

There is no live ammo required for this class, as it is not a shooting course but a tactics-based one.  CQG 2 involves some live-fire, but the CQG 1 course is meant to train in good methodology, tactics, techniques, and procedures.

This course is about reading the anatomy of structures and spaces and practicing movement, footwork, and muzzle positions.  This class is all practical and hands-on but requires no live ammunition. (There may be training guns and training ammunition (non-lethal) used, however.)

CQG will show participants what can be accomplished with a team and alone by using great technique and methods.
